The present study demonstrates the possibility to measure online the exhaled breath of awake rats. The potentiality of PTR-ToF-MS have been tested providing analytical information that allows the discrimination of subjects according the diet regime demonstrating the possibility to monitor the metabolic state of subjects through fast non invasive breath analysis.
