The efficiency of some trap types for monitoring the olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae (Rossi) were tested in olive cultivation areas in Alto Garda Trentino in two successive years (2016-2017). In 2016 the olive flies’ activity was registered with Bac-Trap and Cromotrap traps and their efficiency was assessed by comparing the number of catches. In 2017, Flypack trap was added in the comparison and it resulted to catch significantly more flies than both Cromotrap and Bac-Trap. All the traps were baited with a pheromone and in case of the Cromotrap and Flypack, the lure was added with an ammonium salt food bait. From our results Bac-Trap and Cromotrap showed some different level of efficacy in terms of fly captures. However, both types were useful to intercept dangerous fly’s attacks before the olive harvest period. Flypack appeared to be the highest attractive trap and could represent an important new tool available for olive fruit fly monitoring
