The complete list of Italian Diptera Simuliidae is presented, basically following Adler & Crosskey’s recent revision (2012). A total of 70 species are known for the Italian fauna but also a number of synonyms partly due to contributions by Rubtsov in Piedmont and partly by Rivosecchi in the Apennines and in the Eastern Alps. Rivosechi’s synonyms have been clustered in six groups and generally accepted, with few exceptions that are here discussed. Regarding Simulium bavaricum, we controlled material from the Rivosecchi collection at the Natural History Museum of Verona

Abstract
The complete list of Italian Diptera Simuliidae is presented, basically following Adler & Crosskey’s recent revision (2012). A total of 70 species are known for the Italian fauna but also a number of synonyms partly due to contributions by Rubtsov in Piedmont and partly by Rivosecchi in the Apennines and in the Eastern Alps. Rivosechi’s synonyms have been clustered in six groups and generally accepted, with few exceptions that are here discussed. Regarding Simulium bavaricum, we controlled material from the Rivosecchi collection at the Natural History Museum of VeronaFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
