There are some Phenological Garden networks which are relevant for the scientific activities in the Alpine context. The International network is typically oriented to cool temperature climates, with standard plants common in the central Europe area. On the other hand, the guide species of the Italian network include also plants that are more typical for the Mediterranean climate. The project of the set up of three new phenological gardens in Trentino is illustrated, with some information about phenological garden networks in general. The aim is to build a regional transect, from sub-mediterranean (Arco, Lake Garda area) to Alpine climates (Viotte, Mt. Bondone), representing three different climatic features of Trentino. The three gardens are aimed at becoming part of both the International and the Italian Phenological Garden networks, with a plant choice matching the two standards as much as possible
