Here we presented the major scientific achievements of Work-Package 9 - Modelling West Nile Virus Ecology - obtained during the EuroWestNile EU-FP7 Project. Specifically we shown some results concerning the effect of climate and land-use on Culex pipiens population dynamics in northwestern Italy and on annual West Nile Fever human incidence across Europe and neighbouring countries. In addition, we showed results obtained within the work-package concerning the identification of the primary reservoir host species and their relative contribution to West Nile virus transmission and most important results obtained through the development of theoretical models and concerning the effect of host heterogeneity in vector-borne diseases with multiple hosts
